Spellings
We are launching a new way of teaching spellings at JPS. Some of you may have attended the parent workshop and therefore are aware of this. This week, your child will bring home an information leaflet which will give you more information in case you weren't able to attend. As part of this change to spellings at JPS, we won't be conducting weekly spelling tests. Instead, the children will have a dictation style spelling test approximately every 3 weeks. If you have any further questions, please contact Deanna Richardson [email protected] Please find attached this week’s spelling words behind the 'Spelling' button below. Appropriate Usage of Screens Contract At JPS we believe in the importance of teaching our students how to become 'Digital Citizens' and how to make the best of technology while also acknowledging the potential risks. In class, our teachers talk to their students about appropriate usage of screens in a primary school setting and we have our school contract posted in each classroom. While we acknowledge that every family may have different rules about screens at home, we would be grateful if you could share our school rules and support us in making sure they are followed. The paper version of the contract will be sent home this week for you to keep. Please complete the Google form behind the 'Device Usage' button below to acknowledge that you have reviewed this contract with your child at home. Thank you for your support. Mr. Huntley & Mrs. De Mascarel This week's Home Learning is dedicated to Arabic Home Learning in the form of a magazine. This magazine will introduce the goals for the topic and three sets of vocabulary. The aim is to help the student build a rich vocabulary that will boost comprehension, improve achievement, enhance communication, shape thinking and, most importantly, give them the readiness in classrooms to move further with their learning.”
We will be learning to:
- Read and distinguish between a verb sentence and a noun sentence. - Read and understand a complex text and identify the type of the text. - Write a simple paragraph about nutrition and health - Use the verbs in the present tense with the pronouns (I, he, she, we, you, and they masculine and feminine). For any questions about this homework, please feel free to contact your child's Arabic teacher |
